YANLORD HEALTH CAFÉ

Yanlord health cafe is a new food concept that promotes green and healthy living. As part of a residences club in Shenzhen, China, the cafe is located adjacent to a swimming pool, and provides a healthy menu to complement the athletic activities. Inspired by the streamline of marine architecture, the design utilizes sustainable materials with a simple palette to create a young, healthy and energetic environment. Green is the color accent as well as the ideological spirit of the design.

VYTA COVENT GARDEN

Located in the East tower of Covent Garden market, a famous listedbuilding grade II monument and heart of swinging London in the 1960s,VyTA is part of a broader redevelopment programme that hastransformed the neighbourhood from a tourist destination into a lively,upbeat corner of the city. The vibrant and creative square looks to thefuture and attracts a cosmopolitan audience in search of exclusiveexperiences. The external dehor, rebaptized “VyTA Garden”accommodates up to 100 people. Set with tables and chairs andshielded by large white umbrellas, it represents an urban oasis whereconsumers can take a break from the heat and pace of the city. OXALIS RESTAURANT

Oxalis is located in 4L of Bohua Square, which is a French Restaurant. Shanghai Bohua Square is composed of a 60-story office tower and retail commercials. It is located next to the Shanghai Nature Museum. The Oxalis restaurant has a large terrace on the north side facing the Wusong River, which means there are great views. The roots of the “Oxalis” name can be traced to 2008, at Restaurant BRAS when Chef Jonas started to work with Michel BRAS where together with the kitchen team, he foraged herbs, plants & flowers in fields around the restaurant. Oxalis was one of the first herbs he foraged. Chef Jonas defines this restaurant as “Bistronomy”, which means the fusion of a pub and food. The interior design of Oxalis is inspired by the French farmyards and the chef's philosophy of food, rooted in the seasons and nature. So we use modern design language to tell a ‘Glowing Mysteries’, and move the French farmyard into the commercial space. The bright spatial tone, rattan, wood and white marble create a relaxing dining atmosphere for the restaurant. The dark color of the entrance bar area is different from the relaxed and bright color tone in the dining area. We designed a darker environment for drinking and talking in the bar area. The black bar over 4 meters long and the green hand-made bricks on the wall are matched with marble countertops and ceramic murals behind the shelves. Growing means going beyond the original. In the bar, dining area, and private room, we use the extension of the material as the growth image, extending the same material from the ground to the wall, from the wall to the top, from the inner space to the outer space. They are both conspicuous and harmonized. From Reception to the private dining room, the ubiquitous curved and rattan elements set a relaxed tone for the restaurant. The arc at the top is inspired by the curved roof of the greenhouse, which gives ‘growth’ tenderness and soft protection. The long couch in the middle of the main dining area uses rattan for the back and sides, while the cushion cover features a bright green fabric from Gabriel. The combination of the material and color of the plants also adds vitality to the dining space. Behind the log couch is the open kitchen where you can see the busy figure of the chefs from the perspective of each guest in the dining area. At the end of the dining area, there are two sets of seats under the curved rattan roof, creating a strong sense of inclusion from the back and top, which gives guests a more intimate dining space. From the bar at the entrance to the private room, this series of paintings is presented in the form of ceramic murals, which are novel and chic, while creating a wonderful dining atmosphere. The plants in the picture are inspired by the common fruits and vegetables and herbs in Europe. These rustic outlines and colors make the picture full of vitality. The inconspicuous little insects make the picture more vivid, and the surprise is that the chef's cat also unexpectedly appears in the picture. Delicious food is always accompanied by fun, isn't it?

YOU LANG - SLOW YANGZHOU x XINHUA BOOKSTORE

Wutopia Lab is invited by client to renovate a Xinhua Bookstore and its annex room in the historic district of Yangzhou. The bookstore is redesigned as a multi-functional box for bookstore, hostel, exhibition, conference and tea house, which presents a possibility of connection of the past and the future of the city of Yangzhou. Yangzhou, with a history of 2500 years, used to be the most prosperous city in China. This Xinhua Bookstore in Guoqing Road opened on January 28th, 1949 was the first of its branch in the city. The former of the bookstore was the Jianguo Bookstore during the period of Republic of China and was took over after the liberation. The bookstore is gradually downsized and dilapidated 70 years after its opening so the government of Yangzhou and client are looking for a revival of the bookstore and hope it can bring a positive effect to the city renovation of historic district. The Weightless Box – A bookstore of screens. Based on the heavy grey color theme in Guoqing Road, Wutopia Lab would like to create an opposite space by using bright white color theme for the bookstore. By borrowing the idea of “Palace of Screens”, bookshelves made of white acrylic are installed as screens, splitting the space like a maze. The translucent acrylic material of the bookshelves creates a visual effect of fog, which provides a sense of floating, weightless experience inside of the bookstore. The lifting platform used to be logistics elevator is turned into a mobile living space, which is hidden behind the mirrored wall. The wall of the platform can also be used for exhibition. The third floor is a little collection space for limited books. The space is equipped with portable stainless-steel bookshelves and fixed bookshelves. Together with the mirror ceiling and black floor, the space becomes a boundary-less chamber. The two buildings behind the Xinhua Bookstore is turned into a hostel and shared lobby space. The one with two floors is the hostel with 12 bedrooms, which are small boxes within the large hostel space. The hostel is like a box of chocolate and you’ll never which bedroom you’re going to get. The building next to the hostel is the shared lobby space for group events. We are asked to not to change the façade, so the roof becomes our focusing point. In order to create a vibrant interior atmosphere, we chose to install colored transparent panels for the skylights. A poetic life is the treasure of the hostel box.

READING UNDER THE LAKE

Find a simple and tranquil, harmonious and undisturbed dwelling place in the world. It is desirable no matter what age it is, just as The Peach Blossom Spring describes the story of the fisherman going along a creek and accidentally discovering the Arcadia: “he suddenly chanced upon a peach Cleaning forest; keeping by the shore he moved a hundred paces; inside there were no other trees, and the fragrant grasses were fresh and beautiful; the fallen leaves were a mix of colors, and the fisherman found it strange; He continued onwards, wanting to find the end of this forest⋯⋯” This sudden enlightenment inspired the design of this copywriting. Two premises make Xiamen Zhongnan Real Estate differ from the traditional sales office: Firstly, the sales office building will be for the community’s sustainable use in the future. Secondly, except the reception entrance, most of the use area of the two-story building is located in the landscape. It is the primary task for WATERFROM DESIGN to give play to the characteristics of the sequestering and independent field, while the environment architecture of the three elements of sunlight, air and water is maintained. Source of tea, take a dip. It is expected that on the blueprint for community use in the future, we will build a landscape that is connected to the ground from the entrance of the first floor. In the past, an old tree always acted as the core of the gathering among the villagers, who exchanged daily information and built relationships. It is a habit and a collective memory to gather under the old tree. Tea is the tradition and essence of the old Xiamen culture. It is a ritual and life to boil water and brew tea for friends. It is not about the level of tea; drinking tea is a gesture of freeing and calming our mind. A glass tea pavilion surrounded by a lake is a prelude, just like the transparent container for the ritual on the tea table. The flowing stream of the river accentuates the quietness of the interior, which brings a sense of tranquility for people after they step in. The water flows across the long tea table at the center of the tea pavilion and runs through the glass curtain. When the tea is being brewed on the table, the sound of the water flows continually into the lake stretches all over the room. Although it is not the reappearance of Wang Xizhi’s description of drinking fine wine by the river, the running stream still brings refined pleasure as enjoyed by the ancient literati of China. With a sceneryof exceptional charm, the underground is surrounded by the circular atrium bringing light and water nourishing the tree in the bottom of the lake that stretches out to the sky. The scene resembles the simplest appearance of the heaven and the earth. The daylight makes the tree shadow wander indoor where people could leave behind their busy schedules and slow down. They could gather under the tree, enjoy the time together, observe the day and night and the four seasons. As they sip a cup of tea, they could feel themselves surpassing the order of the bustling city, and comfortable breath in the rhythm of life. Hiding in the lake, time makes things painted. When people look up, they could see the lake water over the roof. The reflection of water creates ever-changing shadows on the wall; the silent swaying beam seems like hiding under the lake. Quietly keeping the distance from the busy traffic on the ground, this space is free from the stress of daily life. In order to retain the detachment from the outside world, we chose warm, natural and simple materials, and maintained the pure texture and tactility. In the design process, we strived to avoid the form of excessive expression, and constructed an intuitive space with lines. Under simplicity,the users can perceive the natural light and shadow without interruption. The décor is like a long scroll on the wall, just as contemporary ink painting that is abstract and only outlines the text. There is no frustration in this space; the cooper plate that ages over time reflects the changes of people in the flow of time. The hand-made pottery that connects the veins of the soil, the fragrance of the wood, and the undulations of the rattan weaved tightly, all narrate the memories and stories of people with subtle details. They are like the microscopic expression of emotions, and the embellishment on the tea tables, and the preludes of cultures activities in the future. Heart of the city, nourishing trees is also cultivating the temperament. Whether it is a sales office or a community activity center in the future, we have removed excessively specific functional frameworks, and hope to create a space for dialogues so the individuals who are alienated by urbanization can find a place to gather around the tree and talk about their daily lives and build personal relationships with others. “He invited the fisherman to the house and entertained the fisherman with wine and delicious food. Others in the village heard of him, and all came to inquire him about the outside news.” In the Peach Garden, people are simple and honest, and live a harmonious atmosphere. We hope this scene will reappear here, which will become a precious life connotation in the community. No matter how bustling the outside world is and how the city is changed, find the entrance to the Arcadia and dive to the bottom of the lake, and you will always find tranquility from an unusual perspective.

PINE GREEN

A love song of Kangding pushes the town to the world, and the whole world came to the city. When a large number of people reside here, it is doomed that cultural blending will produce new fermentation here. Under the traction of the great era, the impact of foreign business is like a wave, and the market is covered step by step from the first line to the N line. Increasing the need for food, clothing, and shelter is often the first step to thinking and behavior change. In fact, starting from “HIYA CAFE”, it seems that we began to understand why he insisted on creating a local commercial brand; this is not just a successful business model, but more of a cultural guardian of the homeland. “Highland barley”, a kind of highland crops, and PINE is a deeper expression on this basis — evergreen tree. As a comprehensive business combining Tibetan/western food, coffee, baking and craft wine, I think this is also a kind of expectation and sustenance for cultural inheritance. If HIYA CAFE is about nomadic yearning, PINE must be the return of farming civilization. The relationship between life and land has always been inseparable. One side of the land and water, this side, is the wind, the fire, the soil, the wood, this is the worship of nature by people in Tibet, not related to religion, but the original belief of life. Therefore, starting from the brand, we refined the elements of wind and fire and soil and wood and integrated them with the unique totem culture of the Tibetan, forming the cultural logic keynote of the whole brand vision. The original building goes up and down like this small town. Whether it is sunken or elevated, it creates a basic level and progressive relationship of space, and forms the unique perception characteristics of each region. We let the brand logic naturally be derived from the entire spatial layout, representing the outdoor area of the land, front area with fireplace as the core, and the mezzanine space carrying the “Wind Horse post office” and the back area representing the wood system. If the construction of the space is the skeleton, then the use of the material is the skin; the carbonized black wood, the clay of the Tibetan land, the wall of the cloth, the grille of the cast iron, and the moderate skylight opening form a unique The feeling of space; the construction of space and the material divide the relationship between light and dark, with the change of time and season, the formation of different light and shadow effects;all of these seem to take people away from the real society, which is hard to distinguish between the real and the virtual. We believe this is the dream of a watchman who keeps on going and never stops.

CHANGSHA MEIXIHU INTERNATIONAL CULTURE & ARTS CENTRE

The Culture & Arts Centre by Zaha Hadid Architects incorporates a contemporary art museum(MICA), an 1,800-seat theatre with supporting facilities and a multipurpose hall. Its organic architectural language is defined by pedestrian routes that weave through the site to connect with neighbouring streets. Providing views of the adjacent Meixi Lake from the city and giving access to the parks and walking trails on the lake’s Festival Island, this ensemble of three separate cultural institutions creates external courtyards where pedestrian routes intersect for outdoor events and sculpture exhibitions. The largest and most versatile cultural centre in Hunan province, the Culture & Arts Centre connects directly with its station on Line 2 of Changsha’s new Metro System. Located on historic trade routes through China, the city of Changsha’s traditions as an important centre of communications continues as one of the country’s leading media hubs with the centre’s Grand Theatre hosting a popular programme of performances and television productions. Designed for the widest variety of performing arts, the Grand Theatre provides all front-of-house functions in sculpted lobbies, bars and hospitality suites, as well as the necessary ancillary functions including administration offices, rehearsal studios, backstage logistics, wardrobe and dressing rooms. With eight juxtaposed exhibition galleries totalling 10,000 m2 centred around an atrium for large-scale installations and events, the MICA art museum also includes dedicated spaces for community workshops, a lecture theatre, café and museum shop. The Small Theatre is characterized by its flexibility. This multipurpose hall with a capacity of 500 seats can be transformed to different configurations to accommodate a broad range of functions and performances that span from small plays, fashion shows and music performances to banquets and commercial events. Totalling 115,000 m2, these three civic institutions are uniquely defined and separate, yet complement each other with different opening times creating vitality throughout the day and evening. The theatre becomes active as the art museum begins to conclude its day-time operations, whilst the variety of events in the smaller theatre ensure it will be used at all times.

RESTAURANT «BOSFOR»

AD Project Dorohov Architect는 2009년 설립된 건축사무소로, 호텔, 레스토랑, 스포츠 및 레크리에이션 시설을 비롯한 상업 공간 등 다양한 분야의 건축 및 인테리어 디자인 프로젝트를 수행하고 있다. 또한, Hilton, Marriott, InterContinental 등 세계적인 호텔 브랜드와 협업하여 완성도 높은 포트폴리오를 보유하고 있다. 스튜디오는 카리스마와 열정이 넘치는 디자인을 기반으로, 친환경적이며 자연스러운 소재를 건축 분야에 적용하기 위해 노력하고 있다. Bosfor는 러시아 Rostov-on Don 지역에 위치한 레스토랑으로, 스트리트 푸드부터 프리미엄 요리까지 다채로운 터키 음식을 맛볼 수 있다. 보스포루스(Bosfor) 해협은 터키의 서부, 마르마라해와 흑해를 연결하는 동시에 아시아와 유럽을 나누는 해협이다. 아시아와 유럽의 경계를 지칭하는 해협의 이름을 빌려온 레스토랑은 그 이름에 걸맞게 유럽과 아시아 문화가 융합된 공간이다. 스튜디오는 우리가 가진 고정관념에서 벗어나 화려하면서도 동양적 디테일이 조화롭게 어우러진 유럽풍 디자인의 레스토랑을 완성했다. 스튜디오는 식당, 카페, Pub 등 시장의 유행을 선도하는 것은 젊은 층의 고객들이라 생각했기에 이들의 관심과 흥미를 끌어 모을 수 있는 인테리어 디자인을 만들어내는 것이 이번 프로젝트의 해결 과제였다. ‘터키’하면 흔히 떠오르는 전형적인 이미지를 탈피하고 깔끔한 라인의 현대적인 아름다움을 느낄 수 있는 공간으로 연출했다. 파노라믹(Panoramic) 스테인드글라스, 벨벳, 식물, 천연석, 아치형, 그리고 개방적인 구조 등을 통해 동양 문화에 대한 현대적 관점을 그들만의 방식으로 풀어내는 데 성공했다. 1층이 캐주얼하게 식사를 즐길 수 있는 밝은 느낌의 공간이었다면, 2층은 레스토랑의 프리미엄 구역이다. 아래층과 대조적으로 톤 다운된 차분한 색상을 베이스로 두고 식물을 더해 포인트 요소로 활용했다. 레스토랑 전체를 아우르는 푸른 식물은 실내 장식의 중요한 요소로 작용한다. 공중에서 아래로 떨어지는 식물은 바에 앉은 손님들의 눈길을 사로잡는 오브제로, 낮에는 자연광을, 밤에는 밝은 네온 사인의 빛을 받아 은은하게 반짝인다. 루프탑에는 지붕 주변을 따라 수많은 식물들을 배치하여 번잡한 도시의 풍경을 가려주는 ‘커튼’을 형성했다. Bosfor 레스토랑의 인테리어 디자인은 터키인들의 라이프스타일, 그리고 자연적 재료와 현대적인 재료들이 조화롭게 어우러져, 비슷한 느낌의 전형적인 레스토랑 이미지에서 벗어나 캐주얼하면서도 세련된 상업공간으로 완성됐다.

BOUNDLESS TEA HOUSE

Unbounded Xixi Tea House is located at the Hangzhou Xixi National Wetland Park. Xixi covers an area of 11.5km2, and here the water is around, and mountains are at four sides, also there are famous parks and old temples, besides there are many reeds and sand bars. All above make the park set city wetlands, rural wetlands and culture wetlands in one. Before reformed, the tea house is light-proof, close and old. Designers, Shen Mo and Tao Jianpu communicated with the owner and analyzed the tea house, hoping to break the tradition also keep the tradition, to make culture and the building together prosperous, as the client hoped-one place using scenery to explain guests. Designers keep traditional bearing wood, to do subtraction to the designing, to adopt big French windows, to expose bones of the building. A big glass box in the entrance means a intangible limit, not only integrating surrounding scenery with indoor space, but also increase lighting and permeability. Walking in the building gives out a interlacing sense between the true and the false, meaning “all behaviors tend to be bubbles.” A long the rock way into the space, you will find the end is a mini natural scenery echoing with outdoor scenery. Another side of the front hall is set a mountain and water scenery, with an old chair, one candle lamp, a branch from surrounding trees above, so when the light is on, there will be winding shadows on the white wall. Xixi’s beautiful scenery can be extended in this indoor space, which reflects the unbounded idea. In order to make the facade free, white walls, glass faces, traditional wood pillars have some distances from each other, like communication in spirit, producing distance beauty. Scenery tea spaces in both sides of the yard is from the original storage spaces. The original spaces are gotten through, and an external expansion has been made, so putting a chair can see outdoor scenery at any time. In the tea house, there is a big meeting space which can be used for meetings and forums. Appreciating tea and viewing the scenery make a meeting a happy and pleased thing, also the rules’ boundary has been vague to make thinking more efficient and significant. Every tea space design is according to different scenery environment. Tea space here is surrounded by bamboos, also integrated with some modern elements, so the old time and the now will have unbounded communication. Sitting at random will make you enjoy talking and tasting tea in a bamboo forest. In space design, pictures have been tried to keep blank, to use natural plants as decorations. All is from nature, making the space more pure and harmonious. A restaurant design idea is to put the “glass box” into the bamboo forest scenery, to make nature combined with the space. So tradition and modern things can be alive together, reflecting building and nature can be alive together.

FENGXIAN DISTRICT RESOURCES PLANNING EXHIBITION HALL

”The Original and Future of Architecture.” Fengxian Urban Museum, located on the east of “Jinhai Lake” in Fengxian District, was designed by the famous Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, integrating the natural advantages formed from “Jinhai Lake’s” rich green water system with the poetic conception “a lot of pearls that are falling onto the dish together” in traditional Chinese culture. Here, “Historical Relics” exhibition area demonstrates the architectural elements of Shen Family Garden, coupled with the ancient architectural model to reproduce the elegance of Fengxian District. Besides, the “Time and Space Corridor•Urban Memory” exhibition area brings China’s 5000-year history to audience through a series of technical interpretations such as the 3D immersive cinema. “Construction Achievements of the New City over the Past Decade” can be found in the library, demonstrating the past and future planning of Fengxian District. ”View the World from Here and Travel through the Time to 5000 Years Ago” The establishment of the Lingang New Area, the construction of Fengxian New City, and the development of the Oriental Beauty Valley make Fengxian District full of possibilities in the future. The partition space supported by three black circular steel pipes is guided by stairs with thin black steel plates on both sides. It creates a lightweight sense of volume and adds a sense of enclosure, which makes the space scale more appropriately. Between the dining elevator and the hanging-feet building, the light wooden card seat backplane is ingeniously designed. At the junction of the seat and the light wooden backplane, the black steel backplane and the warm light belt are added. Let the states of equilibrium and harmony exist in perfection, and a happy order will prevail throughout heaven and earth, and all things will be nourished and flourish.” This quote from the Book of Rites reflects Confucius’ view on the doctrine of the Mean. It represents the ideal state of harmonious interplay between yin and yang, between toughness and softness, and between humanity and nature. In their design of the Jinan Bocuishan sales center, Yi Chen and Muchen Zhang try to integrate culture and art into the space using pure and natural techniques of expression for harmony with nature based on the ancient idea of “rites”. They’ve created an ordered, graceful and Zen-style space imbued with Chinese culture as it echoes the history of ancient Shandong, the poetic charm and architectural style of Han Dynasty, and the essence of Eastern culture. They strive to interpret the Eastern style with their creation and build a spiritual home where the heart can be cleansed and return to a poetic state. This has given rise to an artistic space design rooted in Eastern culture for personal reflection. The dynamic and layout of the space follows the laws of nature, serving as an answer to the traditional Chinese aesthetics of harmony between man and nature. In the traditional shape of the Chinese character “回”, the pathways are symmetrically set across the central axis, as the main and supporting pathways, solemn and tranquil in a seamless pattern, enclose the overall space. The axisymmetric design and the pillar array standing on either side add to the vertical rhythm and horizontal smoothness of the space. The suspended timber frame and the grilles that reach the floor, which are inspired by the freestanding gate tower in Han Dynasty, are strategically arranged to act as partition walls for the functional areas. As light and shadow are intertwined across the space, the pillar array, serving as the focal point of the spatial dynamics, combines both ancient and modern aesthetics and demonstrates the unique eastern ideas of respect and ceremony. Daylighting is maximized in the space. Interlaced into an ethereal pattern, rays of light breathe life into the space just as the subtle interplay of water and ink animates a traditional Chinese painting. The natural transition from the interior to the outdoor water garden perfectly blends the two together, giving rise to an impressive Zen vibe that lightens up the solemn Eastern style. From point to line to façade of the space, either concrete or abstract, exudes an exquisite eastern aesthetic characterized by simplicity, serenity and impermanence. Contemporary visual language is applied in pursuit of Chinese spiritual traditions and continue “image in meaning” in the design. Each visual element is a unique spiritual and poetic expression, which responds to our ever-present longing for aesthetic satisfaction and desire for sentimental resonance. FOSHAN BAILIMA WINDOWS & DOORS SYSTEM EXHIBITION HALL

Lu Linlin, the designer of Fanchi, believes that people need to recognize products in specific environments, and different environments will give different meanings to products. As a common building material product, doors and windows are no longer limited to the basic functions of lighting and ventilation in modern life, but more reflect the spiritual demands of residents. Through the window, they express their understanding and understanding of time and space, man and nature, self and the outside world. Bailima doors and windows have always been the brand of strategic cooperation doors and windows designed by Fanchi. We have had several successful cooperation experiences before. The Fanchi team also has a deep understanding of Bailima products, brands and teams. As the Flagship Exhibition Hall of Foshan, where Bailima doors and windows headquarters are located, this case is more important and significant. This case designer starts from the architecture, through creating the artistic conception of space light, shadow, air and running water, let guests explore constantly, perceive products, seek poetic expression, and emphasize the overall aesthetic feeling. The original building is a two-storey duplex, central empty structure, we have carried out a second transformation, the elevation space is planned in the household part, guests enter the room, six meters of floor height comfortable and free, up and down, an eight meters long window into the eye, super-long window decoration has also become the exhibition hall to attract visitors to stop and enter one. Bullguer Center는 보드워크와 고가교(高架橋) 사이로 수많은 인파가 오고 가는 복잡한 거리와 다양한 주변 환경이 어우러진 상파울루 중심지에 자리 잡고 있다. 눈길을 사로잡는 건물 외벽의 개성 강한 아트는 브랜드 로고를 표현한 타이포그래피며, 그래피티 예술가 Theodoro Autops와 Raphael Barcelos의 합작으로 탄생했다. 스튜디오는 그래픽 아트를 통해 상파울루 거리의 분위기와 독특한 미학을 프로젝트에 그대로 가져오는 데 성공했다. 강렬한 노란색 컬러의 공간을 지나면 붉은 조명이 은은하게 비추는 공간을 마주할 수 있다. 스튜디오는 컬러를 활용하여 간편하면서도 확실한 공간 구획을 이루어냈다. 셀프 서비스로 운영되는 매장은 고객의 경험에 따라 자유롭게 동선을 바꿔가며 공간을 활용할 수 있도록 테이블 및 좌석을 구성했다. 자리마다 배치된 조명과 매장 곳곳에 보여지는 싱그러운 식물은 이곳만의 유니크한 분위기를 고조시키는 아이템으로써 적절히 배치됐다. 또한, 스틸 구조물로 이루어져 자칫 차갑게 느껴질 수 있는 공간에 따뜻한 느낌을 더했다. 2층으로 이어지는 철제 계단 사이와 매장을 가득 메운 식물 덕분에 어디에서든지 그리너리한 뷰를 감상할 수 있다. 식물에 둘러싸여 높게 이어진 계단을 오르다 보면 패스트푸드 매장을 방문했다기보다 색다른 공간에 들어온 듯한 기분을 만끽할 수 있다. 붉은 조명과 머리 위로 쏟아지는 자연광을 느끼며 2층으로 들어서게 되면 또 다른 공간을 맞이하게 된다. 위층은 조명을 내세웠던 아래의 공간과 달리 밝은 자연광과 검은색 철제 구조를 최대한 활용했다. 강렬한 느낌을 더했던 1층보다 밝고 따스한 느낌으로 공간을 완성했다. 전면 창을 통해 상파울루의 활기찬 거리와 브라질 대표 건축가 Oscar Niemeyer의 Copan Building을 감상할 수 있다. 매장을 둘러싼 창을 비롯하여 천장 역시 오픈 구조로 형성되어 있어, 공간 안을 가득 채우는 따스한 햇볕을 마음껏 느낄 수 있다. Plazma Studio는 여러 프로그램을 소화하려 하는 클라이언트의 요청 사항에 대해 정형화된 방식이 아닌, 그들만의 독특하고 유쾌한 솔루션을 통해 맥주와 사교를 즐길 수 있는 2층 규모의 Gastropub* 공간을 완성했다. *(Gastropub: pub-restaurant, 미식(美食)으로 유명한 식당) 사이트는 리투아니아에서 가장 오래된 도시 중 하나인 Klaipėda의 해안가 도시다. Švyturys Brewery Gastropub의 바로 옆에는 역사적으로 유명한 양조장이 자리하고 있었으며, 이에 따라 스튜디오는 해안지역의 유서 깊고 풍부한 양조 문화를 내부공간 디자인에 녹여내고자 했다. Švyturys Brewery Gastropub은 컬러와 물성의 상호작용, 간결하고 불규칙적인 요소들의 교차와 위트 있는 평면 계획 등을 통해 방문자들 간의 왕성한 교류를 자극할 수 있도록 디자인됐다. Švyturys Brewery Gastropub의 실내 공간은 항구도시, 해안가 마을의 특징은 살리되, 고목 등 인더스트리얼하고 러프한 소재를 통해 전통 있는 양조장의 컨셉이 녹아드는 공간을 구상했으며, 그 외에도 깔끔하고 모던한 사교 공간을 목표로 했다. 이를 위해 대리석과 거친 금속의 조합, 혹은 낡은 선박용 조명과 고급스러운 가죽 가구의 조합 등을 통해 사이트만의 고유한 특징이 돋보이면서도 독특한 분위기를 자아내는 공간 Švyturys Brewery Gastropub이 완성됐다. The scope of our design commission was broad yet clearly defined. The interior of Švyturys Brewery needed to include a bar, a beer shop, a tasting area, an exhibition space, a conference room, a concert stage, and more to become a place where people could socialize and learn about Lithuania’s proud beer brewing culture. These design imperatives allowed us to break free of gastropub interior design standards to come up with our own unique and playful solutions. Located in the seaside town of Klaipėda, Švyturys Brewery stands right next to a historic brewery known throughout the area. Drawing on this coastal region’s rich beer brewing tradition, we opted to emphasize the interplay of colors, materials, and various precise and seemingly random, witty narrative elements to surprise and stimulate conversations. Unexpected combinations of marble and rough-rolled metal, or salvaged marine luminaires and elegant leather furniture allowed us to emphasize the gastropub’s singular location and character while fostering its unique atmosphere. Even the large and startling fish sculptures that fill the pub’s huge open space feel perfectly normal after a short while.

The design style of Neobio in Shenzhen continue the consistent design style of Neobio brand. The design highlight of Shenzhen Store lies ingenious arrangement of space though the use of floor height. Sims city located in the atrium part of the shopping mall, the designer combined with the high-rise space of the atrium and skillfully built the Sims city into a three-dimensional city in the space rather than waste space. The whole space is supported by corridor, slide, aerial ceiling and a series of components, and create a dream city. At the same time, the Sims city and the original shopping mall space are mixed together. Different from the previous Neobio stores, Neobio in Shenzhen uses the natural transition and seamless connection model among Library Area, Stone Sims City and Restaurant, to avoid the vertical walls and eliminate the sense of estrangement. In the stone Sims city, the bookshelf wall could indicate the orientation more intuitively and concisely for children. The passageway through the library area is the Stone Sims city. The rapid transformation of this two areas benefit from the seamless design. Between the restaurant and the Stone Sims city, the natural transition of different sections can be achieved by the placement and layout of seats without vertical wall. In restaurant, consumers can still enjoy the whole structure of the Sims city, and at the same time, it is convenient for parents to look after children when they playing in the Sims city. C ombining with the glass curtain wall structure of the shopping mall outsides, designers transform the whole facade of the first floor into a bright yellow corridor to attracted visitors' attention. RAGNO

The majority of interior space of tiled exhibition hall on the market has overly complicated generatrix, too many displays and obsolete samples, so that “balance” becomes the most important theme in our design, which means the combination of tender humanity design and different individual experience. Thus, we intended to organize the whole space with simple and open generatrix. It won’t set a fixed shopping route for customers in advance because we hope to offer a free choice for customers in shopping experience. Through the guidance of different layers of colors and textures, the customers can find out their favorites during exploring. The exterior of this exhibition hall is a total open space without any doors and dazzling array of display windows, so you can almost see through the entire exhibition with your own eyes. The oblique entrance attracts people from both sides naturally. The white bricks with stone-like texture suspended on top is the best-selling product in RAGNO, matching with round glowing logo, it becomes our most suitable wall for display. We use some concepts of designing a clothing store for reference, and we expect a multi-dimensional display of different colors and textures of glazed tiles applied. They could be insertions of blocks, backgrounds of displaying, or a surrounding space of a sunken plaza. The simple division of space not only add fun to customer’s interaction with the area, but also give them a brand-new experience of shopping. In addition, plants, flowers, coffee and different styles of furniture and lamps added to this space reveal our expectation of combining aesthetics of everyday life with the exhibition hall, so that we can bring vigor and vitality to RAGNO naturally, and make it real space of living.

SPACE IN SPACE

Located on the east of Zhongshan Park in Changning District, Shanghai, E3 STUDIO has the largest shooting studio in the downtown. Its covering area is more than 2,000 square meters, which makes it extremely malleable and possible to recreate a new space inside. Its height is more than six meters, which not only meet the standard of the film’s shooting, but also can be divided to multiple stories, enriching the space and areas for usage. Originally there is an indoor barrier with a swimming pool kept the other side. Now we dismantled all barriers and the space was completely open to the air. The bare pillars and walls with rough texture are exposed, and the stairs made of castin-place concrete spring up high, leading to a whole orderly space. The space between spaces is more meaningful than the space itself, but it is also easy to be unnoticed. It is precisely the diversity and complexity of “spaces between” and its uncertainty that make spaces potential with infinite possibilities. Six isolated shooting studios provide the comfort and freedom of the large space. The design was inspired by the frame of the photographic camera. We saw the yin and yang through the frame, and the roundabout, squatting, cushioning, overflowing and blooming. Flowing thoughts and immovable architecture. Through these different sizes of frames, people still can see each other in different spaces and add up the fun. Natural lighting is also improved in the interior spaces. Lighting is also the place where we made the most modifications of the entire interior renovation project. We add light without any traces, and all seems to be born like this. Not a drop of paint was used in the renovation process, since we were afraid of destroying the original phase of the space. In other words, paint is not inconsistent with the original intention of sustainable and green renovation at low cost. The old wood sold in the second-hand market was cleaned and neatly arranged as the gates of the six studios. These half-worn woods seem to be born here naturally. They themselves are worn out because of numerous times of usage. Perhaps it is worthless for others, but those who use it again and appreciate it are interested in its past.
